São Bras de Alportel

Known as the centre for cork processing in the Algarve, São Bras is a quiet place that possesses a jewel of Algarvian heritage and culture – the Ethnographic Museum of Algarvian Costume. The Museo Etnografico do Traje Algarvio displays rural costumes bearing Portugal’s rooster emblem and made of bright fabrics, many adorned with black lace.
