Portimão Attractions

Doca da Sardinha – the sardine dock lies at the end of the marina and offers delicious combinations of freshly caught and charcoal-grilled sardines along with freshly baked bread and salads of fresh local produce.

Ferragudo and Praia Grande – A beautiful beach sits across the bridge from Portimão in the small village of Ferragudo, along with St.John’s Castle, which has been restored and is under private ownership. Sailboard rental is available here as well.

Shopping – In addition to the numerous shops at the marina, Portimão also offers Rua do Comercio and Rua de San Isabel, main business streets filled with shops selling clothing, crafts, crystal, leather and ceramic goods. Modelo Shopping Center consolidates a variety of shops and eateries in a mall-like setting.
