Portimão

Fishing has been the focus of Portimão since before the arrival of the Romans, and so it remains today. This port town, located where the Arade River meets the sea, sustained nearly complete damage in the earthquake of 1755.

A sprawling marina and terminal support local fishermen, who in turn support the thriving canning industry in Portimão. The Marinha do Portimão offers small shops, restaurants and bars to please every taste.
