Praia de Luz

Located 2.5 miles west of Burgau, this small fishing village has been transformed into a haven for visitors. Amazingly, Praia de Luz remains relatively unspoiled and pristine. The beach goes on to the west for about three miles before arriving at Salema, where lush green hills give way to a sandy strand nearly 2,000 feet long.

The bay at Praia de Luz is conducive to windsurfing, and lessons as well as equipment rental can be found at the beach. Diving instruction and opportunities for night scuba excursions and wreck exploration are available nearby.
